Rice nougat: an ideal snack

If you want to make a homemade puffed rice you can use, for example, our Extra Montsià Rice, you cook it during 20 and 25 minutes (a bit overcooked), you strain it and spread it on a tray to take it to the oven (no more than 80º) for a couple of hours to dry well. Once dehydrated, skillet with a splash of oil and have fun watching the grains pop. 

Then, to make the nougat, you just have to stir the puffed rice with melted chocolate and a little butter in a bowl. Now you just have to pour the mixture into a mold and take it to the refrigerator to cool and solidify. Ready!

The best thing is that this sweet so funny, thanks to the combination of chocolate and rice, contains 7 of the 9 essential amino acids that the body needs and a high vitamin value. Puffed rice is ideal because it provides calcium and iron and you already know that it is a cereal that contains very little fat. Chocolate is usually one of the sweets that most attract little ones, and to give the mix a healthy touch, we recommend that you use a chocolate with a 70% cacao.
