There are many wonderful places to escape to when the summer season begins. Beautiful beaches, hidden corners, deep-rooted traditions, exquisite gastronomy...

Visiting the Ebro Delta in summer is an excellent option that brings together all these elements. In case you didn't know, ours is the third most important delta in Europe. That makes it a place bathed by the fresh water of the Ebro and the salty of the Mediterranean, being home to dozens of species. Not to mention its long tradition of trades related to agriculture, such as rice harvesting.

If you still don't have a planned destination this summer or, if you do, but you want to take advantage of a weekend to escape to some different place, where you can enjoy a variety of settings and activities, we certainly invite you to visit our land.

Plans and places to visit the Ebro Delta in summer

If you like the beach, you're in luck, the Delta has a wide variety of beaches: the Trabucador beach, the Eucaliptos beach, the Fangar beach ... among many others. You can take long walks, take a few good dips and even see part of the varied Delta fauna.

If you want a more educational visit, the Casa de Fusta and the Ecomuseu are two places of great cultural interest to get to know the Delta in depth. The first houses an information center and an ornithological museum and, in the second, you can learn about all the natural and human aspects that make up the Delta.

Have you brought your partner and want to surprise her with something truly romantic? You can see a wonderful sunset in the mountains of Montsià from the Badia dels Alfacs. For them, take the swallow that leaves from the port of La Rápita.

If you are more athletes, you can enjoy the fantastic cycling routes through our rice fields, whose color changes throughout the year. Now, on July, they are a green carpet and, at the end of the summer, a golden mantle that announces the harvest season. Another option is to walk under the moonlight through the mountains that border Tivissa or the Castell de Mirabet or go on excursions through the Natural Park dels Ports. One way or another, a perfect evening awaits you!

Don't forget...

But, above all, and very important, you cannot come to the Delta without trying a good typical paella of the area. And of course, made with the best rice, the Montsià Extra Rice. Find a good restaurant with good views and enjoy the best gastronomy in the place. When you taste our rice, you will not be able to taste another.

These are some ideas for you to enjoy if you decide to visit the Ebro Delta in summer and its surroundings. If you want more information, do not hesitate to visit the Terres de l'Ebre website. In it you can find many more proposals to know our land.
