That many of us love that the warmth arrives and that the hours of light lengthen does not mean that spring is a perfect season.
Aside from the watery eyes and constant runny nose, there are many people who are more tired with the season change. It is what is known as "spring asthenia”, a disorder that can cause us drowsiness and changes in our mood.
But take it easy!, it's nothing serious, and with a
good diet and control of our routines we will be prepared to fully enjoy this ourishing season.
What foods help fight spring asthenia?
The truth is that
we already eat many of them all year round, but at this time they are especially suitable to provide us with adequate energy, yes, regulating intakes and combined with regular physical exercise:
Under the sea... Omega 3 you will find: the sardines, anchovies or mackerel influence our nervous system, lowering our stress levels and making us rest better.
Nuts, natural antidepressants: same as blue fish, walnuts and pistachios
are rich in Omega 3 and they also provide energy. Anacardos, in case you did not know,
they are also a great emotional ally, because its high content of zinc and magnesium contribute to reduce anxiety.
Green I love you green...: Chard, spinach or celery, eaten especially raw, they are
great sources of iron and also stimulate your defenses.
Strawberries, banana and kiwi: the former
are rich in vitamin C, folic acid and antioxidants, and in case it seems little, prevent fluid retention.
Banana will give you a good potassium energy and, especially, it will help you
improve your mood thanks to tryptophan, an aminoacid that stimulates the production of serotonin. By last, kiwi
will give you the vitamin C you need (It has twice the orange!) and will help you better absorb iron from food.
But it certainly cannot be missing…
The star element against asthenia: Of course, can not be missing in any healthy diet and good roll an extra fiber to make our intestinal transit
more fluid and to improve our mood with vitamin B and magnesium. Rice, and especially the brown variety of Montsià, they will help you.
Spring asthenia? How about a menu of rice with vegetables and nuts, second, baked mackerel and finally a strawberry salad, kiwi and banana?
