Montsià rice is a finalist at the European Award For Cooperative Innovation

We are very happy! Càmara Arrossera del Montsià has been selected as a finalist at the European Award For Cooperative Innovation.

The fifth edition of the European award for cooperative innovation has selected us as finalists, in the Circular Economy and Bioeconomy category, for converting the husk of our rice into Oryzite, a sustainable substitute for plastic.

These awards are a recognition of innovation oriented towards sustainability in the agri-food, fishing and forestry sectors. Its main objective is to promote the most innovative practices and add value to cooperatives and sustainability in different sectors.

During the second quarter of 2021, the jury composed by Chairman’s of the European Parliament's Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, will announce the winners of this edition. We are delighted to receive this recognition represents the great efforts made by our cooperative in sustainability area. We will keep you informed!
