Last friday 4 May was held the fifth edition of Barcelona School of Hospitality and Tourism Rice Contest for the Chefs of the future, promoted by Montsià rice.
As we mentioned in this other post, this year the dish chosen to prepare was the
rice pudding, and there were two modalities in the contest: one that was to follow the traditional recipe and another preparing a recipe for creative cuisine.
And the winners have been...
Total, were 12 contestants who reached the final stage, two for each hospitality school of the six that participated.
In the Traditional Dish category, have been
Ernest Abelló Guillemat and Alex Collado Mallol, from Cambrils School of Hospitality, the award winners of 1.700€ for a scholarship.
Ferran Miquel Sánchez Conesa and Laia Mas Ribera, from Barcelona School of Hospitality, they have taken their prize, also € 1,700 for studies, for his new vision of the original recipe rice pudding.
Parallel to the contest, talks have also been held on the cuisine and the products of Km.0 in Hospitality schools that have had the participation of
Jeroni Castell, chef and owner of the restaurant Les Moles, holder of 1 Michelin star.
