At Arroz Montsià, we know that every recipe has its ideal rice.
Choosing the right variety not only improves the flavor, but also elevates the final result, giving each dish the texture and aroma it deserves.
We'll tell you how to get the most out of our rice varieties:
Montsià Extra Rice
Extra rice stands out for its versatility and superior quality. With the Delta del Ebro PDO seal, it belongs to the highest category of rice (Extra quality) and is made with the Montsianell variety, grown in our fields in the Delta.
Its grain intensely absorbs flavors and maintains a firm texture, perfect for traditional dishes. To get the most out of it, we recommend sautéing the grains in a little oil before adding the liquid, using two parts water or broth to one part rice. Cook over medium heat, without stirring, and let it rest for a few minutes before serving to achieve an ideal texture.
Perfect for preparing homemade meat or seafood paellas, stews such as arroz con crusta, or rice and vegetable casseroles, where the absorption of flavors is essential.

Montsi Rice Bomba
With the Delta del Ebro PDO seal and grown in the heart of the Delta, Bomba rice is known for its ability to absorb three times its volume of broth without breaking, making it the perfect choice for demanding dishes.
The key is to start cooking over high heat and then lower it, avoiding stirring to achieve loose, flavorful rice. It's also ideal for brothy rice dishes, as it doesn't overcook as easily as other varieties.
It's the star of dishes like paella, black rice with cuttlefish, or a tasty arroz a banda, where each grain must maintain its integrity and capture all the aromas of the broth.

Montsi Long Rice
Long grain rice is perfect when we're looking for loose, light grains. To achieve this, we recommend cooking it in plenty of water, like pasta.
This way, we get rice that's ideal for fresh salads, such as a rice salad with tuna and vegetables, or as a side dish for Asian dishes like three-delight rice. It also pairs perfectly as a side dish for roasted meats or tropical dishes with fruits like mango or avocado.
