Today we travel to Brazil! Carreteiro rice is a traditional recipe of Brazilian cuisine, which was prepared with food scraps and served as food for street vendors.


Ingredients

  • 500 g Montsià Extra Rice
  • 500 g beef
  • 4 sausages
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tomatoes
  • ½ paprika
  • 4 cups of beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon of crushed tomato
  • 1 tablespoon of ground garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of virgin olive oil extra
  • salt
  • pepper

  1. Cut the meat into small pieces and set it aside.
  2. Cut the chorizo into slices and reserve it.
  3. In a bowl, place the meat and season it with salt, pepper and garlic.
  4. In a saucepan with a little oil, fry the onion until it crystallizes and then add the chorizo and the meat.
  5. Sauté the ingredients well and then add the tomatoes, paprika and crushed tomato.
  6. Add the rice together with the broth, stir well and correct the flavor.
  7. Cook the Montsià Extra Rice for about 17 minutes and that's it!
