We started our rice adventure in Asia, original continent of rice according to most historians, since more than 7.000 years, this cereal was a staple food in China and India.

 CHINA 

The cradle of rice, the largest producer and one of the oldest gastronomic cultures in the world, in which hundreds of varieties fit, each one suitable for the recipe in question. But to give an example, to make a classic bowl of Chinese white rice the most common is to use a variety of long grain rice, one of the most consumed in China and America.

INDIA 

Basmati in India it means "queen of fragrances", with this name, no wonder that the rice Basmati be the winner of this exotic cuisine that puts so much emphasis on aroma and delicacy. THAILAND

JAPAN

There is a group of varieties totally different from those mentioned so far, are the japanese rice, also called of Japonica variety; they are characterized by their round grain and their sticky texture when cooked, ideal to do how not? Sushi. Also in this Asian country, typical cooking method is steam, hardly using oil, what makes your rice even healthier. 

ITALY

Risotto is one of the most popular dishes in Europe. Did you know that "riso" means rice in Italian? To elaborate it, our neighbors use very special varieties of rice with a high content of starch, this way they get that smooth creamy texture, and a particularly short and hard grain that absorbs the liquid well once cooked. SPAIN

Although there are many more countries with their own famous rices, for today we stay in a house. Surely you already know that rice came to Spain through the Arabs, and that currently the Ebro Delta is one of the main rice producers of the peninsula, being notable the varieties Montsianell and pump Montsià Star dish?
